Parkinson’s disease which is a disorder of the brain that leads to shaking (tremors) and difficulty with walking, movement, and coordination. can be minimized or alleviated if the dopamine production in the brain to brought up to normal levels. Scientists have now found a link between deficiency of iodine and inadequate dopamine production in the brain. Additionally, iodine can be very helpful in detoxifying heavy metals from the body, such as mercury, lead and aluminum, which are known contributing factors in developing Parkinson’s disease.
