It usually takes 5 years (on average) for most people go get an accurate diagnosis of fibromyalgia. This is because Fibramyalgia can be difficult to diagnose.
It doesn’t fit easily into the medical model. The diagnosis is not one of exclusion. Fibromyalgia is a syndrome.
A syndrome is not a disease. It is a collection of symptoms you can group together to make a diagnosis.
