Cayenne pepper is a medicine dating back thousands of years. It’s spiciness comes from a compound called capsaicin. This compound is largely responsible for its wide range of uses ranging from alleviating arthritis to herpes to reducing blood sugar levels. It is very beneficial for regulating metabolism and boosting the immune system. It can even be used topically for its astringent, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.

The hack I share here is simple: Capsule it! Although i’m taking two capsules at once at around 160,000 heat units (HU), I recommend starting with the standard cayenne that is usually around 40,000. Anything over 100,000 HU is an advanced dose and should be worked up to!
