So what happens when a cold snap and effective treatment kill caterpillars and butterflies? Apart from little children crying because they have lost some outdoor playthings, gardeners also get exceedingly happy that they no longer need to cover their crops. That is why my broccoli is coming back very well.

The tomatoes are also suffering a bit either from disease or effects of the colder weather. We have a warm streak coming, so they should last a few more weeks before a freeze kills them all off.
